Every site we build has a content management system. Hosting and maintenance is what keeps it switched on.
Log in, change your prices, your phone number or the words on a page, and it is live. No waiting on us, and no invoice for five minutes' work. On Professional and Sky Is The Limit it is also where you write your blog posts.
It sits on our hosting because that is where it is kept working, backed up and secure. Move the site somewhere else and it keeps running; the editing screen is the part that stays with us.
Sky Is The Limit includes the first year. On Basic and Professional it is £150 a year, from whenever you want it.

No hostage hosting. No holding the domain to ransom if you leave.
The domain is registered in your name. The site is yours. If you ever want to move it to someone else, we hand over the files and the access without a fight and without a fee.
We think that is the bare minimum, but enough people in this industry do the opposite that it is worth saying out loud.

This is the least interesting page on the site and the one that saves people the most money, so it is worth being plain about what it covers and what it does not.
Hosting is where your site physically lives. Ours is fast, which matters more than it sounds: most of your visitors are on a phone, often on mobile data somewhere in the county with indifferent signal, and a site that takes four seconds to appear has already lost a share of them before it renders. Speed is not a vanity metric for a local business, it is the difference between a visit and a bounce.
Maintenance is the boring half. Updates applied, backups taken and actually tested, uptime monitored so we find out something is down before you do — and before a customer does. The failure mode we most often inherit is a site that broke quietly six months ago, that nobody noticed, on a domain the owner cannot log in to because the last web designer registered it in their own name.
Which is the other thing worth saying: your domain is registered to you, not to us. If you leave, you take the domain, the site and the content, without a fee and without an argument. That is in the terms of business rather than only on this page, and it is the single most important question to ask anyone you are thinking of hiring.
Questions we get asked
Can I host it myself?
Yes. The site is yours and it is built to run anywhere. If you would rather handle hosting, we will hand it over and show you how. The one thing that stays with our hosting is the CMS — the site itself goes wherever you want it. We would rather you chose us because it is easier, not because you are stuck.
What happens if the site goes down?
Static sites have very little that can break — there is no database and no server-side code to fall over. If something does go wrong, it is our job to notice before you do, not to wait for a customer to tell you.
Can I change the text myself?
Yes. Every site we build comes with a content management system, and hosting and maintenance is what keeps it open — log in, change the words, and it is live. Sky Is The Limit includes the first year; on Basic and Professional it is £150 a year. If you would rather not touch it, send the change over and we will do it.
What happens if the site goes down at the weekend?
Monitoring runs constantly rather than in office hours, so we find out when it happens rather than on Monday. Most outages are the host's and resolve on their own; the ones that are not, we fix. You are not expected to notice a problem and report it to us.
Can I host it somewhere else?
Yes. It is your site and your domain, and if you would rather host it yourself or with someone else we will hand it over properly rather than make it awkward. We would rather you stayed because the service is worth £150 a year than because leaving is difficult.
Is £150 a year really all of it?
For hosting and maintenance, yes — that is the whole figure, and it includes access to your CMS. Monthly SEO is separate and optional at £200 a month. Anything that counts as new work rather than upkeep gets quoted and agreed before it starts.
Why not just use a free host?
You can, and for some things it is fine. The trade-offs are speed, which costs you visitors on a phone; adverts on some free tiers, which cost you credibility; and the fact that a free host owes you nothing if it disappears. Google switched off its own free small-business sites in 2024 and thousands of businesses lost their web presence overnight.
