We build one kind of website,
for one kind of business.
Sites for firms that make their living from the people who live within a few miles of them. Not national brands, not startups chasing an audience anywhere. Doing one thing is how the work gets good at it, rather than competent at everything.
What that
changes about
the website.
A studio splitting its month between a national brand and the salon down the road has to guess at both. They are not the same job, and it shows in what gets built.
We design on the assumption that your customer is stood outside in the rain on a four-year-old phone, wants to know whether you cover their street and roughly what you charge, and will ring the next firm if they have to hunt for it. That decides the layout, the order of the pages, how big the phone number is, and what gets cut.
It decides what you get, too: a design drawn for your trade rather than a theme with your logo dropped into it, the words written for you, and a content management system so you can change your prices at nine at night without waiting for anybody to do it.
Being found matters as well, and it is the other half of what we sell. But it comes after the thing itself is worth arriving at. It is also the reason we turn down work that is not local.
Status
We are new.
Here is exactly
what that means.
Alvex Creative is a young business. We have no wall of client logos, no reviews, and no case study numbers — and we are not going to borrow, buy or invent any of them.
Our first client site, for an electrical contractor here in Leicester, is built and launching shortly. It will appear on this site when it is genuinely live and not a day before.
Until then, the thing you can judge us on is this website: how fast it loaded, how easily you found what you needed, and whether it reads like it was written by someone who understands your job.
And this: we built the same business three times, once at each package, so you can see the difference rather than take our word for it. Have a look at the demo.
The list
What we will not do.
- 01
Promise you page one in thirty days
Where you rank is Google’s decision, not ours. We will tell you what we are doing and what we expect, and we will not put a date on it.
- 02
Hold your domain hostage
It is registered in your name. If you leave, you take everything, without a fee and without an argument.
- 03
Sell you something you do not need
If your bottleneck is not the website, we will tell you that, even though it costs us the job.
- 04
Bury you in technical terms
You are not supposed to know what a canonical tag is. That is our job, and explaining it in English is also our job.
